Recent PSI Projects:
PEOPLES BANK OF CHINA – SHANGHAI (PHASE 1)
PSI has completed the design of the world’s largest Cash Management Center
in Shanghai. The overall site design includes automated and manual vaults,
cash distribution, processing and destruction operations, truck and railroad
paying and receiving, and an office/hotel tower. The complete facility will
store over 45,000 pallet and container loads of banknotes and coin. PSI’s
responsibilities on the project include development of the site master plan;
building program development; layout of all facilities; physical and
electronic security systems design; material storage, handling and control
systems design; cash management systems design; and the design of
data/telecommunications and audio-visual systems. The first phase of
construction was completed in 2006, and the second phase is scheduled to be
completed in 2009.
FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF KANSAS CITY – KANSAS
CITY, MO
PSI participated in the design of a new headquarters building project for
the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. PSI designed the Cash and Check
operations in the new building, including all materials storage, handling
and control systems. PSI also had major responsibility for the design of the
secure and general delivery dock areas, the security screening building, and
other aspects of the vehicular traffic to and from the new facility. The
facility construction was completed in early 2008.
FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF PHILADELPHIA -
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
PSI designed a new receiving/shipping dock area for checks, general
deliveries, and mail. The check receiving system includes X-ray screening
systems, dispatch exchange lockers, and conveyor systems to support check
consolidation in the existing Philadelphia office. PSI also supported the
development of new check operations layouts and systems to allow doubling of
check processing volume at the facility. The new areas became operational in
2007.
CENTRAL BANK OF KUWAIT – KUWAIT CITY
PSI has completed the design work on the new headquarters building for the
Central Bank of Kuwait. The building will be 42 storeys in height, and will
include the latest technology in security systems and cash operations layout
and automation. The facility has been designed with a fully automated vault
to store the currency efficiently and securely and it will be equipped to
handle automated delivery of valuables to and from the docks, banking hall,
and processing areas. PSI also designed the general delivery and secure
vehicle screening areas and loading dock areas of the building, and
participated in the overall site plan development. Multi-level support for
securely moving materials is incorporated into an integrated system within
this high security facility. Construction of the new facility was started in
2007.
NOAA NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE – KANSAS CITY,
KS
PSI has developed the material handling system concepts, building program,
flow diagrams, facility layouts and specifications for construction of a new
100,000 square foot distribution warehouse and reconditioning center. The
facility incorporates many advanced concepts including energy efficiency
features to qualify as a LEED Silver facility.
FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF ATLANTA - ATLANTA,
GA
PSI designed new cash processing rooms, Paying/Receiving rooms, and
supporting areas to allow expansion of the Atlanta cash operations and the
addition of two new Automated Guided Vehicle (“AGVS”) vehicles and two new
automated currency processing machines. The expansion of the cash area was
completed in 2007.
BANCO DE LA REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA – BOGOTA,
COLOMBIA
PSI designed and helped with the implementation of a combined new currency
printing and Treasury facility for the Banco de la Republica de Colombia.
The new facility combines the banknote printing, issuing, returned banknote
and coin, currency processing, and distribution operations into one highly
efficient facility in Bogota. The facility utilizes AS/RS vault equipment,
AGVS, conveyors, pushback racks and other automated and semi-automated
systems for storage, handling and control. The facility incorporates a very
high level of security, but also provides an efficient and attractive
working environment for the employees.
BANK OF CANADA – MONTREAL AND TORONTO,
CANADA
PSI developed new concepts to improve efficiency in cash processing
operations at the Montreal and Toronto facilities assisted in developing and
implementing a new operations strategic plan for the next 10-15 years
CAYMAN ISLANDS MONETARY AUTHORITY – GRAND
CAYMAN, BWI
PSI has completed the design of a new cash center for the Cayman Islands
Monetary Authority in Grand Cayman. The new high-security facility is part
of a major new building project for the Cayman Islands Government. PSI has
developed the complete layout for the secure cash docks, the paying and
receiving operations, currency processing and destruction, the vault
operations and all supporting operations for the new cash operations
facility. In addition PSI has developed the overall security specifications
and requirements for the entire Cayman Islands Government facility and the
site. The facility is currently under construction and will be completed in
2009.
